1. A woman fleeing gender-based violence in her native country. At age 15, she was forced to marry her abuser and had two children with him. Her husband raped and burned her. Authorities in her home country ignored and failed to protect her.
2. A teenager fleeing forced recruitment by an armed group. At age 15, this young client came to the United States alone after powerful organized criminals threatened to kill him if he would not help them. When he held steady in his refusal, they began threatening to hurt his mother and little brother. Wanting freedom, he fled.
