Biden wins the presidency, but the outgoing Trump administration moves quickly to solidify negative immigration law changes

Despite the election results, the Trump administration steams ahead, implementing draconian policies punishing children seeking humanitarian protection here.

A group of 28 children held in ICE detention facilities wrote an open letter to Trump, Biden, and Congress, asking for their statutory right to seek asylum to be respected.

ICE threatens to deport the children, and their families, later this month based on Trump policies that have been repeatedly struck down by courts across the country. The so-called asylum transit ban, which attempts to bar anyone from seeking asylum here if they traveled through another country on their way here, has been held unlawful. Yet ICE continues threatening to send these families back into harm's way by deporting them to countries they have fled.

We cannot be complacent in supporting the withdrawal of this administration's punitive policies against immigrants.
