Before practicing immigration law, Bonita S. Gutierrez worked as a commercial and administrative law litigator in New York City. A graduate of Columbia Law School, she honed her courtroom instincts at the international firm K&L Gates, LLP, and later served as an attorney with the New York State Office of the Attorney General.
Ms. Gutierrez has comprehensive, hands-on experience in every phase of the litigation lifecycle:
- strategic motion practice,
- oral argument,
- negotiations with opposing counsel.
Today, as the founder of Open Immigration, Ms. Gutierrez uniquely bridges the gap between immigration law and federal court practice by specializing in immigration litigation before the U.S. District Courts.
Contact Ms. Gutierrez if you are interested in consulting and mentorship services at reasonable rates. She can offer you a direct line to contact her with your questions about procedure, litigation strategy, and how immigration law practice interfaces with federal court litigation. She is also available to review draft court filings.
